Pooch
Coach Classes
Due
to increasing demand for The Pooch Coach's training, and the desire
of The Pooch Coach to enable more people to afford the incredible
results of her methodology, we have introduced a few very small
training classes for situations and people that would benefit from
a less condensed course.
Our
classes are for the following people and dogs:
1.
People who are new dog owners, and want to train their dog using
the best methodology available.
2. People who like to learn at a little slower pace than what one
on one training provides. Instead of learning 4-5 things per lesson,
classes focus on just one or two basic commands per session.
3. Dogs who do not exhibit any aggression towards people or other
dogs. (For dogs with these issues, you will need one on one training
with Beverly herself).
The
Pooch Coach's assistant, Rachael Soroka, who has been studying with
Beverly for over 2 years, will be the instructor for these classes.
She was previously the Director for Share-A-Pet
in San Francisco, and has trained many dogs using Beverly's methodology.
The
classes will consist of 5 sessions, to be held on Saturday afternoons.
The following commands will be taught:
1.
Sit. No hand motions, no food,
just sit! Your dog will learn to sit immediately on command,
especially in order to be petted by house guests, people on the
street, and other park visitors.
2.
Down. No hand motions, no food,
just down! Your dog will reliably perform sit, down, sit
("puppy push ups") in any situation.
3.
Come. Your dog will learn to
reliably come when called.
4.
Heel. Your dog will walk behind
you on a loose lead and not pull or lunge.
5.
Stay. Your dog will stay for
at least one minute in front of ANY object before being released
to take/eat it.
The
cost for this course is $275 and is limited to 5 dogs per class.
The next set of classes will begin in July
2009.
Please contact us for exact dates and times.
Classes
will be held in Diamond Heights - Christopher
Playground
(There is plenty of parking in the Safeway parking
lot, and several bus stops there.)

Advanced
training:
Once
you have completed this course, and wish to take your dog to the
next level, Beverly will be available for more advanced training.
This includes things like staying under all circumstances and distractions,
off-leash recall, and a permanent "off" command that ensures
your dog will not pick up dropped items (pills, chocolate), fun
discoveries at the park (chicken bones, dead birds, dog poop), and
he will avoid touching your food if left in front of him - even
if you leave the room!
