Kompis.  A wonderful little dog.

It’s been one month since I said goodbye to my best friend. Not a moment goes by that I don’t think of her and miss her. She was always by my side, especially in the last few months when I could not leave her alone for even a minute. There is an emptiness and void in my life & heart that cannot and will not be filled.

Being with her in her last weeks & days taught me so much.  And saying goodbye taught me even more. I’m becoming an expert on grief.  I also feel I can help more people than ever…

Not everyone wants professional dog training or needs behavior modification for their dog. But, everyone does have to eventually say goodbye to their dog. I have so much information and advice to help people through this transition that my brain is overflowing.  But it’s going to take time for me to be able to write it all with a clear mind and less broken heart.

So look for me to be adding to my repertoire of advice in the future. And remember you’re not alone in the pain of watching your dog age and in having to plan for a goodbye way sooner than you’d like. Support is out there, including from me.

In case you missed the 2 amazing videos that were done to honor Kompis, here they are:
