DOG HUMAN AGGRESSION TIPS
Bug’s foster mom describes her as a “senior female chihuahua that is aggressive (fear/territorial). She barks, charges, and bites house guests. Her triggers are standing and movement.”
This is very typical issue I see with small dogs and some herding breeds.
It’s all fear based and needs to be trained out with patience and repetition. We’re tightening up the rules and keeping her on leash to do exercises with house guests. She did wonderfully in her lesson once she realized we liked it much better when she didn’t try to lunge (she got praise and a favorite treat).
With some practice, she soon should feel safe & be able to run free again.
